Redlands Coast on Quandamooka Country

Standing on the shores of North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), you can feel the spirit of Quandamooka Country flow around you when you close your eyes.

Traditional owners of much of Redlands Coast, the Nunukul, Nughi and Goenpul Peoples (collectively known as the Quandamooka People) have lived in careful balance with our region’s natural wonders for at least 21,000 years.

If you know where to look, the evidence of this ageless connection surrounds you. A special experience on Redlands Coast is a tour by one of the Quandamooka guide operators.

Gain fascinating insights into the oldest surviving culture in the world while tasting regional bush tucker, browse an art studio or take a guided tour.

The Quandamooka Festival offers an annual program of events. Expect a warm Yura (welcome) as the Quandamooka People share their living, vibrant culture through dance, song, art and traditional storytelling.

Discovering their unique spiritual connections with the seasons, lands, seas and wildlife of Redlands Coast will stay with you long after you say farewell.
