North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah
Discover the history of the world’s second largest sand island at North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah. From exhibitions showcasing the history of the Quandamooka people to more recent history, including the reason behind thousands of unmarked graves in Dunwich Cemetery and the island’s role in wartime, the museum houses displays that tell the North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) story through the eyes of the people who have lived there. The museum, which also runs a program of special exhibitions and educational activities, is located at 15-17 Welsby Street, in Dunwich. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am – 2pm; Sunday 11am – 3pm.
