Soak up the creative atmosphere of a working pottery studio and join the studio community of makers. Work under the tutorage of artist Carys Martin to learn the techniques and tricks to creating in clay and to explore the different surface decoration options.
Come along on Sunday 4th May 10am-12noon and hand build your very own bee or bird feeder. Carys will give you a mold to build your shallow dish upon and share with you techniques you can use to bring your piece to life. You will work with a pale clay and you will be able to choose from a selection of studio glaze colours that Carys will finish your piece with after it has been biscuit fired.
The workshop will run for 2 hours and is suitable for beginners through to advanced potters.
Carys will carefully dry your piece before its first firing then glaze it in your chosen glaze and fire it in the kiln. It will be ready for collection from the studio in 2-3 weeks. On the rare occasion any breakages occur during the firing process, Carys will repair them to the best of her ability. However, if your piece is unable to be repaired, you will be offered the opportunity to remake it or a full refund.
