Redlands AdventureFest will include the Queensland Hillclimb Championship promoted by the MG Car Club of Queensland at their circuit at Mount Cotton. This will be on the weekend of 24-25 May 2025.
Hillclimb sport is a category of motorsport where drivers compete against the clock, on a one-at-a-time basis. They compete in a variety of competition classes for daily drive, sports cars, sedan groups and Formula Racing cars.
Mount Cotton hillclimb is located on Gramzow Road off Mount Cotton Road at Mount Cotton, Redlands. Redlands is located next to the Greater Brisbane City area and next to Logan City region. The circuit is approximately 40 kilometres from Brisbane City.
From the spectator seating those attending will be able to see the whole of the 946 metres bitumen track and the action as drivers run the steep climbs, rapid descends into hairpin bends. Entries will include the current Australian champion, Dean Amos in his Nicholson McLaren V8 powered Gould and the current Australian Supersprint champion, Dean Tighe in his turbocharged Empire Wraith.
Mount Cotton has been in operation since 1968 providing "grass roots" motorsport for enthusiasts with opportunities to develop their car control skills.
The circuit is in a parkland bushland setting recognised under the Land For Wildlife programme with the Redland City Council.
Families are welcome however unfortunately no dogs are allowed on competition days.
